Fixing Plate for Bafang BBSHD and BBS02
Fixing Plate for Bafang BBSHD 1000 watt and BBS02 750 watt electric bike motor kit. This is the small black plate slides over the Bafang motor shaft and attaches to the motor housing. The fixing plate has small edges that face the bottom bracket. When the M33 locking nut is is tightened the fixing plate is crushed into the bottom bracket shell. Tighten the M33 nut 30nm-40nm. If this product is used with a steel bicycle frame the fixing plate cannot crush itself into the bottom bracket shell. This happens when the steel frame is harder than the fixing plate.
We recommend using a motor brace when building using the Bafang BBSHD 1000 watt and the Bafang BBS02 750 watt electric bike motor kit on any steel frame. If you do not use a motor brace the motor will eventually come loose. The Bafang fixing plate cannot hold the Bafang motors in place when used on steel bicycle frames. This is especially true if you are installing the Bafang 1000 watt motor kit.
There are two types of motor stabilizing braces. The first is a brace that is attached to the motor axel then to the underside of the downtube. To use this brace one must install a rivnut into the bottom of the downtube. This is not difficult but you will need Rivnuts, drill bit, and a Rivnut installation tool.
An extra Fixing Plate for Bafang BBSHD and BBS02 should always be close at hand if you are building with the Bafang mid drive system
