This chainring is for those who wish to ride fast without too many hills to climb. If you would rather spend more time on steep climbs it is highly recommended that you choose a smaller chainring. Remember, the Bafang motor works best with a high pedal cadence. Please use with caution. Very high speeds can be attained with this large chainring. Insure tires can accommodate high speeds. Wear head gear designed for eBikesĀ

Lekkie 52T BBS02 Chainring for Bafang BBS02 750 watt electric bike motor kit. Please note that this product will not fit the Bafang BBSHD 1000 watt electric bike motor kit.

The Lekkie 52T is the largest chainring they have to offer, but believe us…it is plenty. My first experience with this chainring was when we built a Giant Talon with the Bafang BBSHD 1000 watt motor, a 52/17.5Ah battery, Schwalbe 2.0 road tires and the Lekkie 52t chainring. We were in a group ride when a young rider flew past us without so much of a “hey.” My team mates looked at me and said, “Hey Alvin, do you think you can catch him?” By now the rider was far up ahead but I new this eBike I built was on the line so I said, “Let’s find out.” Not only did I catch him…I passed him at 44mph!

First, I do not recommend taking any bikes up to speeds they were never designed. Second, bicycle helmets do not allow much protection at those speeds. Third, just a bad idea all around. The point is, if you want to go fast then this is the chainring you will need. It’s not going to happen on a 28t,36t,42t, or a 46t.

This chainring is not for climbing hills. If you are into climbing hills then do not use a chainring that will overload your motor and burn it out.
